High-Pressure & Corrosion-Resistant Systems
Heavy-duty mechanical contracting, pipeline spool fabrication, and utility loops in Doha.
Refineries, gas liquefaction lines, desalination facilities, and fertilizer plants — from Ras Laffan Industrial City to Mesaieed — operate under extreme mechanical pressures and aggressive chemical environments. Standard stainless steels degrade rapidly under these conditions, leading to stress corrosion cracking (SCC), pinhole leaks, and cataclysmic piping ruptures.
SS Piping Qatar supplies and installs industrial piping networks designed to handle heavy pressures and hostile chemistry. We maintain stock of heavy-wall piping (Schedules 40S, 80S, 160) and specialized high-alloy steels, including Grade 316Ti, 904L, Duplex 2205, and Super Duplex 2507. Our fabricators weld in compliance with ASME B31.3 (Process Piping) and ASME B31.1 (Power Piping) codes, ensuring maximum structural integrity.

Super Duplex Water Infrastructure
Seawater cooling loops and reverse-osmosis desalination systems expose metals to high chloride contents. Normal 316L stainless steel suffers pitting within months of exposure. To combat this, we pre-fabricate seawater intake lines using Super Duplex 2507 alloys, which feature a Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) above 40.
Our welding processes for duplex alloys employ strict heat-input monitoring (0.5 to 1.5 kJ/mm) to preserve the 50/50 balance between austenite and ferrite grain phases. This prevents joint brittleness and ensures maximum tensile strength under operating loads.
Quality & Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
Radiographic Testing (RT)
X-ray film checks of butt weld joints. We maintain a passing rate of over 99.5% on RT examinations, ensuring defects like lack of fusion, slag inclusions, or internal porosity are identified and corrected.
Hydrostatic Pressure Testing
Lines are subjected to hydrostatic tests using high-pressure pumps. Systems are tested to 1.5 times the maximum design pressure, with hold times monitored via digital gauges and logged over a 4 to 8-hour testing duration.
Alloy Grade Verification
Positive Material Identification (PMI) testing using calibrated spectrometers. We verify every alloy component matches the Mill Test Certificate (MTC) heat code before shop cutting and beveling.

Industrial & Petrochemical Piping FAQs
Compliance, codes and site access for Qatar's oil, gas and petrochemical facilities.
Do you provide piping contractors for Ras Laffan and Mesaieed Industrial Cities?
Yes. SS Piping Qatar mobilises ASME B31.3-qualified crews to Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLIC) and Mesaieed Industrial City (MIC), including gate-pass compliance, site-specific HSE inductions and hot-work permit coordination for petrochemical and oil & gas facilities.
Which piping codes do you follow for petrochemical process piping?
Process pipelines are engineered and tested to ASME B31.3, with power piping to ASME B31.1 and welder qualifications under ASME Section IX (6G). We provide hydrostatic and pneumatic testing, NDT (RT/PT/MT/UT) and full documentation packages.
Can you handle hydrogen, steam and high-pressure alloy piping?
Yes - we fabricate and install stainless, duplex and alloy pipework for hydrogen, steam and high-pressure process services, with PMI verification and EN 10204 3.1 mill certificates on all materials.
Do you work as a mechanical subcontractor to EPC contractors under QatarEnergy standards?
We work as a mechanical subcontractor to EPC and main contractors under Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS 2014) and client/QatarEnergy project specifications, providing ITPs, WPS/PQR and full QA/QC traceability.
